Your tour will begin at the Sorano Castel'Azzara, which was initially controlled by a local family before Siena took control of it in 1475.  Upon arrival you will notice the picturesque scenery, where a big tower dominates the ruins of the Castle. As you head toward the entrance, you will see the ditch, the foundations of the Castle and a circular tower: everything preserved in the original aspect.

You will then continue on to Castel'Ottieri, which was included in the territory of the Grand Duke of Tuscany in 1559 after the fighting between the town of Siena and the Orsini counts from Pitigliano.

Castel'Ottieri is a fortified castle completed across centuries with its heart in the Rocca, a building within its inner part from which you can see the circular tower. Included in its walls is the only original door of the oldest medieval fortified walls and the high square floored tower.
