Florence
Florence, (Firenze) is the capital city of the region of Tuscany, Italy. It is situated on the Arno River and has a population of around 400,000 people, in addition to a suburban population or around of 200,000 people.Often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance .The most famous location and architectural jewel of Florence is the domed cathedral of the city, known as the Duomo (see map). The Arno river cuts through the old part of the city. One of the main bridges in particular stands out as being unique the Ponte Vecchio (the Old Bridge). One of the main museums, the Bargello museum concentrates on sculpture and contained works by Michelangelo Donatello. Giambologna The most famous main course is the bistecca alla fiorentina, a huge steak of Chianina beef cooked over hot charcoal and served very rare. The Accademia dell'Arte del Disegno (often simply called the Accademia) collection's highlights are Michelangelo's David and his unfinished Slaves. |
