Day 7: Florence-in-a-Day Tour

This morning your private local guide will meet you at the hotel for your tour of the city.

Florence’s rich past as the cultural center of the Italian Renaissance can still be seen today in the wealth of art gathered here, and in the preservation of its splendid architecture. The tour includes visits of the Duomo and the Baptistry, the Piazza della Signori, the Ponte Vecchio, and the celebrated Accademia Gallery.

We can arrange reservations to visit the Uffizi Gallery for the afternoon to see the art collection of the powerful Medici family.

Day 8: Chianti Excursion, Wine Tasting & Tuscan Cuisine

Today your English-speaking driver will pick you up at the hotel for a full-day trip into the celebrated Chianti Wine Region, an area as much renowned for its natural beauty as for its excellent wines. A stop at a local winery for a tour of the cellars and a wine tasting will be arranged.

You will then continue on to the Relais Torre Guelfa just outside of Figline Valdarno, an arcadian oasis in the Tuscan countryside surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Here, you will be given a private lesson in the preparation of authentic Tuscan cuisine by the expert cooking staff. This evening you will enjoy a Tuscan dinner at the Torre Guelfa, accompanied by specially selected wines.

Your driver will return you to your hotel in Florence after dinner.

Day 9: Pisa and Lucca Excursion

Today, your English-speaking driver will pick you up from the hotel for a full-day private excursion to the university town of Pisa and the villas of Lucca.

Your tour takes you through the fertile and picturesque Tuscan countryside towards the historic university city of Pisa, famous for its architectural beauty. You will get a chance to visit the famous Piazza dei Miracoli and the celebrated Leaning Tower. Also worth seeing is the Cathedral, an unequalled masterpiece of Romanesque art carried out between the 11th and 12th centuries, as well as the Baptistery and Piazza dei Cavalieri.

Along the valleys of Lucca and in the plain of Monte Pisani one can admire beautiful country villas. Most of them were the summer residences of the noble Italian families and are excellent examples of the different architectural styles that can be found in Tuscany. The first were built in the 15th century on the hills and nearby on marshy land. The villas are numerous, but we will make sure to visit the most important and well-known. A favourite is the 16th century Villa Torrigiani, one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in the region.

Your driver will transfer you back to the hotel in the evening.

Day 10: Florence

A free day to enjoy Florence and get in any last minute sightseeing or shopping.

Day 11: Back Home!

After check-out from the hotel, you will be picked up by a private car and driver for your transfer to the Florence Airport.
