On this day trip you will journey through the heart of the Tuscany region, on the Arno river by kayak, retracing the ancient path of the loggers of silver fir trees. The river has for thousands of years been the lifeblood of the region, providing wealth to the region's inhabitants through the logging industry.

The silver fir trees were cut down and tied to large rafts, called "foderi", before they were shipped to Florence and Pisa to be used for the construction of warships.

As a result of the low water level of the Arno, in the summer this trip is not always feasible; alternatively, this day trip will be substituted by a trip on a nearby lake.
