Your guided walking tour will take you to one of the most spiritual sites in Tuscany, the sacred forest of Camaldoli, which marks the spot where one thousand years ago Saint Romualdo founded the Camaldolese order.

Surrounded by the inspiring beauty and stillness of the protected forest, you will visit the quarters of Saint Romualdo to witness the severe way of life of the Monks (which they continue to live to this day), following the Benedictine rule, "ora et labora" (pray and work). You will then visit the other parts of Camaldoli, including the monastery and the old pharmacy, where the hermits' lives become part of the community.

To emphasize the importance of these places from an environmental point of view, you will briefly visit the famous and monumental chestnut tree, Castagno Miraglia.
